Welcome to SSJ Juniors kickboxing School, official AKA & AMA Kickboxing studio.
SSJ stands for Shin Sen Juku, Japanese for New Style Fighting.

These classes are designed to help juniors gain confidence and awareness through a physical and fun activity. Learning this martial art you will gain extensive, realistic self defense techniques, gain fitness and should you choose, develop into a kickboxing champion.



The SSJ school has been running very successfully for over 17 years through World Multiple Champion and Chief Instructor Lee Hasdell. Other achievements under Lee's belt are 2 x Military Fitness Champion, British Kickboxing Champion and is also featured on the Combat Magazine Hall of Fame. The SSJ Juniors Instructor is Claire Reilly who has been training in the school for over 10 years. Claire has achieved the British Amateur Kickboxing title and the English Professional Thaiboxing title. There are several other students in the school that also hold various titles. All Junior instructors are CRB checked.

Reach your potential with the world famous SSJ Training Syllabus, designed for maximum success. There are 9 stages of the SSJ Syllabus and will be held every 2 months, each student will be notified when they will take their next grade. The lessons will mainly consist of working through the SSJ Syllabus as the techniques covered are all you need to be a successfull kickboxer.



The competition circuit that we attend is the A.K.A. Kumite which is a successfull amateur kickboxing competition that is run every two months and is something that the SSJ Juniors could aim to compete in should they so wish. These competitions are semi contact and the student wears complete protection. The judging is done on a score basis, the same as is used in the Olymic boxing, this has proved very effective. We also attend various other competitions throughout the year with an occassional opertunity to fight in another country for Britain.
